‘Innovations for You’ : A Digi-book for Start-ups

Introduction

The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is the Government of India’s flagship initiative to promote innovation and entrepreneurship culture in the country. AIM is mandated to create an umbrella structure to oversee innovation ecosystem of the country and revolutionizing the innovation eco-system – touching upon the entire innovation life cycle through various programs.

Recently the Atal Innovation Mission has launched a digi book known as “Innovations for You” which is an effort to bring out the success stories of the start-ups in India. It provides for a compendium of innovations and entrepreneurs from start-ups supported by the Atal Incubation Centres belonging different areas. These start-ups have worked hard to develop new, disruptive, and innovative goods, services, and solutions that will help to pave the way for a more sustainable future.

Objective

The Digi-book was created with the intention of encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue a path of innovation and imagination in order to address some of India’s most serious issues. It also strives to highlight the top ideas and entrepreneurs in order to put them in the spotlight.

Highlights of ‘Innovation for you’

  • The first edition for this digi book was released on October 2021 focussing  on the innovations in the healthcare sector. This book is a compilation of 45 health tech startups incubated in Atal Incubation Centers spread across the country. These start-ups are leveraging key technologies like AI, IoT, ICT, and so on to provide socially relevant solutions to problems like anemia, malaria, dental care, mental health, newborn and child care, and monitoring of human lives.
  • Subsequently the Second edition was released in  December 2021 focussing on the agriculture based startups and featuring 70 agriculture based startups supported by the Atal incubation Centers of the Atal Innovation mission  Similar to the healthcare startup edition this edition also features startups that are leveraging frontier technologies such as AI, IoT, ICT and others to provide socially relevant solutions to problems of modern farming.
  • It is expected that subsequent editions of the series will focus on other emerging sectors like EduTech, Mobility, EV among others.

Conclusion

The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is the government’s flagship project to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in India. AIM has been tasked with creating an umbrella organisation to monitor and revolutionise the country’s innovation ecosystem, encompassing the whole innovation life-cycle through a variety of programmes.

These Digi books have provided the necessary insight to the innovations made by start-ups’ in different sectors providing recognition to the budding start-ups in the area.
